Ossia Press was founded during a moment of disruption in the publishing industry, as part of a movement against Generative AI and the influence of Amazon and the Big Five publishing houses. Inspired by a historical, punk attitude, we set out to be a source of Publishing for the People.

With that comes some promises:

• We will never use Generative AI (e.g., ChatGPT or Claude) in the development or publishing of our zines and books.

• We will never use Amazon KDP or similar, Bezos-controlled methods to distribute our publications.

• We will always put community and local impact first, especially as we consider our impact on the environment and social change in the UK.

• We will always meet our readers and contributing authors with respect, kindness, and empathy as we grow and develop our company and community.

We are here to do things differently and prove that the world doesn’t need slop; it needs people.
